Job Summary: The Community Relations Coordinator drives the facility’s inquiry and admission process and provides customers with facility-related information via facility tours, personal visits/assessments, conversations, presentations and follow up. This key individual is responsible for creating positive working relationships with key referral partners and referral influencers in the medical community and the community at large through marketing initiatives and messaging, outcomes, services, amenities, and monthly event planning. The Community Relations Coordinator will develop relationships with established referral partners as well as develop new contacts, communicate market trends, and create/execute outcome-based marketing plans. Qualifications: * BS/BA Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Psychology preferred but not required. * Must have one year of experience in a long-term care setting, or academic coursework that would complement position duties. * Must have prior experience handling confidential information. * Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. * Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills. * Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. * Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle team members based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning. * Must possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with members of the team. * Must be organized and demonstrate time management skills. * Must have ability to act as liaison between the team and Community management. * Must maintain the care and use of administrative supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the assigned office in a clean, safe and attractive manner. * Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with team members. * Must be knowledgeable of computers and other office equipment. * Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace. * Must possess a valid state drivers’ license. * Must be able to perform very limited overnight travel.

Summary Performs a variety of laboratory-related tasks which will involve computerized order retrieval, specimen collection, waived testing, and specimen dispersal. Works closely with other laboratory personnel. Has frequent contact with patients, their families, nurses, physicians and other facility employees.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.   Verifies patient by reading and verbally confirming patient identification.  Converses with patient to allay fear of procedure.  Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures, heel sticks and finger sticks.   Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures; observing isolation procedures.   Prioritizes “STAT” tests priority over routine work  Insures that specimens are collected according to appropriate protocol, in appropriate tubes and/or containers.  Follows department safety procedures and appropriately utilizes safety equipment.   Collects therapeutic drug-monitoring assays by collaborating with nursing personnel to ensure appropriate drug dose to collection time.   Tracks collected specimens by documenting phlebotomist identification, collection date and time maintains a daily tally of collections performed as required.   Monitors glucose levels by performing bedside glucose tests; recording results; reporting results to unit nurse.   Performs waived testing. Maintains quality waived testing results by following department procedures and testing schedule; recording results in the quality-control log; identifying and reporting needed changes. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.  Resolves unusual test orders by contacting the specimen processing specialist, physician, nurse, medical laboratory scientist, referring unresolved orders back to the originator for further clarification; notifying supervisor of unresolved orders.   Accesses, selects, releases and prints interfaced orders from the hospital, clinic and laboratory information systems.   Instruct patients in proper procedures for specimen collection when necessary.   Collects specimens for legal blood alcohol testing and may be subpoenaed to testify in regional court systems to explain collection procedure.   Maintains stock of supplies in collection area.   Maintains a neat and clean work area.   Is careful that conversation and behavior in front of patients is appropriate and professional.   Is careful that confidentiality is maintained.   May travel to outreach locations to perform specimen collections.   Follows all applicable OSHA guidelines. Follows all hospital and departmental safety procedures including disposing of sharps and sharps containers properly.   Be able to organize work during heavy workload situations to expedite patient results.  Interact with colleagues in a way that promotes a harmonious and cooperative working environment.  Bring complaints to the Supervisor, Laboratory Manager or Director for constructive resolution rather than complaining to colleagues, which lowers group morale.  Keep conversations that are not work-related to a minimum.  Adapt to change or unusual circumstances in a way that promotes cooperation and minimizes disruption to the working environment.
