56 hours per two week pay period. Responsible for providing basic supportive bedside care to patients as part of a team and under the direct supervision of the registered nurse in the unit(s) to which they are assigned. Monitors the ECG waveform displays in a centralized telemetry monitoring station. Documents changes in rhythm and reports these changes according to established protocol. Provides secretarial support in the (unit) to which they are assigned. Minimum Education High School Graduate or Equivalent required. Successful completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia & Dysrhythmia Courses Minimum Work Experience 1 year Monitor Technician experience in a hospital setting. Previous hospital or nursing home LNA experience preferred. Previous secretarial or administrative experience preferred. CMT/Cardiac experience preferred. Required Licenses/Certifications Current Vermont State License. BLS Certificationthrough the American Heart Association. National Monitor Certification (Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT)) required within 12 months in position, from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), preferred. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Ability to report patient care observations, deviations from patient's plan of care and other pertinent information under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. Ability to quickly make decisions to report patient condition with minimal supervision. Ability to remain focused and maintain concentration over extended period of time. Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias. Demonstrated moderate knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to move or lift patients and equipment. Demonstrated strong knowledge of basic computer skills.
