The Central Supply Chain Technician follows established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs and safety standards. This position is responsible for checking expiration dates, stock rotation, removal of excess inventory, delivering supplies to nursing units, cleaning and delivering clinical equipment. This role will promote teamwork and collaboration with co-workers, customers and leadership to problem-solve and promote innovative solutions to provide excellent service for our clinical partners and patients.
Minimum Qualifications
1-year experience with medical supplies, equipment and surgical instrumentations preferred
Knowledge of sterilization techniques, medical instruments and equipment

Assists the circulating nurse in implementing the perioperative plan of care to include: patient positioning, confirmation/preparation of operative site, updating physician preference card, care of operative specimens and room turnover.
Demonstrates the application of the principles of asepsis.
Adheres to unit specific standards, policies and procedures for aseptic technique.
Selects proper sterilization method of instruments/equipment: sterilizes prior to procedures, as necessary and verifies instruments as sterile.
Takes corrective action when any unsafe practice, conditions or breaks in aseptic technique occur and reports information to the circulating nurse.
Demonstrates basic surgical case preparation skills.
Assists with pulling cases and checks case cart for completeness, obtains supplies and equipment and determines them to be in good working order before a case begins.
Prepares the operating room by opening sterile supplies, instruments, and sutures based on scheduled procedure and surgeon preference card.
Follows policies for scrubbing, gowning, gloving, setting up back table, draping and counting with the circulating nurse
Demonstrates the ability to perform the role of first scrub on all basic surgical cases.
Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, which includes passing instruments, sutures and other items appropriate to the procedure.
Establishes and maintains and organized sterile field.
Assists the surgeon by retracting tissue, holding instrumentation to provide exposure and cutting suture under the direct supervision of the surgeon.
Supply Room Access
Enters supply room(s) on nursing units as needed to perform necessary job functions.
Refrains from manipulating or removing any intravenous fluids that are stored in the area.

Job Summary:
This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being preformed by people assigned to this work. POSITION SUMMARY:
The purpose of the job is to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients utilizing the team concept, under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Therapist.
POSITION DUTIES:
Facilitates and maintains a safe environment for patients and others.
Performs the priority technical procedures required by the area/department/assignment safely, effectively, efficiently, and legally. These procedures include but are not limited to: basic life support (CPR); ADL's; restorative care; calculate intake and output, lifting, ambulating, transferring, positioning, weights, equipment use, vital signs and other non-complex tasks.
Delivers basic patient care under the direction of the RN or other licensed healthcare provider.
Prioritizes assigned tasks and patient care activities based on the following: acuity of the need, resource availability, customer/patient preference/request, and other departmental needs.
Problem Recognition/Intervention: Reports abnormal patient findings and situations to RN or other licensed healthcare provider; Takes actions to correct unsafe conditions.
Gives rationale for actions or decisions based on logic, successful experience, intuition, and/or established policies/procedures.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to identify actions to improve patient care.
Seeks supervision or assistance when unable to perform effectively or safely, independently.
Uses interpersonal-communication strategies with individuals that are intended to achieve desirable/acceptable outcomes/responses and perceptions of satisfaction by those involved.
Contributes to continuity of patient care.
Initiates and/or maintains job specific interventions to assure continuity of safe, effective, care for patients.
Complies with established hospital/ departmental/personnel policies.
Documents consistent with established guidelines.
Delegation
Delegates safely and appropriately to other team members to accomplish direct patient care or support activities.
Questions the appropriateness of a task that has been delegated by the RN/Licensed healthcare provider when there are concerns about scope of practice.
