JOB SUMMARY: Provides technical support for the processing of monthly billings, submission of Medicare and Medicaid claims to the appropriate agencies and the detail posting of related reimbursements received for the Parent Company and all Subsidiaries in accordance with Homewood’s standards and practices. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as well as personnel matters as confidential information. * Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices. * Processes monthly billings for residents in the various operating Sites. * Prepares and files appropriate claims for Medicare, Medicaid and other third party reimbursements, and posts the details to resident accounts. Follows-up collection of reimbursement claims. * Maintains appropriate detailed resident files as required by Federal and State Agencies and as needed for management purposes. * Maintains records to support information contained in the Annual Cost Reports for the various operations in accordance with required Medicare and Medicaid Regulations. * Provides information from the financial records that is required for various Financial and Federal/State Agency Audits. * Provides processing support needed to accomplish each month’s financial closing and for the closing at the end of the financial year as related to the billing function. * Provides monthly reports as requested by management. * Assists other Billing Technicians and Accounting Staff in general accounting as necessary. * Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor QUALIFICATIONS: * High School Diploma/GED (AA in Accounting or Health Care preferred). * Two-three years’ experience in a similar function. * Knowledgeable and experienced in bookkeeping, accounting and reimbursement procedures. * Computer literate with two-three years computer experience (Including basic knowledge of computer spreadsheets and word processing). * Able to operate various kinds of office equipment (PC, ten key calculator, printers, copiers, folder/inserter, etc.). * Self-motivated, accurate, detail and deadline oriented. * Good communication skills and able to work well with others. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires extensive work using a computer. This position has physical and mental aspects of sedentary work in which lifting requirements are minimal. Occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or operate computers, objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Full Time. Monday – Friday.
