Job Summary:: The Financial Analyst is responsible for the analytical / decision support and managerial reporting tasks for the consolidated organization, as well as for the individual business lines and corporate support departments. This individual develops, maintains and prepares financial analyses used for monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc reporting purposes. This individual coordinates the budget and forecasting processes, performing routine budget variance analyses, maintaining the various budget templates and forecasting tools, collaborating with business owners to complete their budgets, and preparing all budget-related reports and analyses. The Financial Analyst will also have additional accounting responsibilities related to the annual financial statement audit, cash flow management, treasury/banking functions, general ledger reconciliations and business process improvement. The Financial Analyst coordinates the development and maintenance of the management scorecard and routinely monitors the key operating metrics that drive operational performance. The Financial Analyst is also responsible for accumulating all operational and financial information needed during the organizations annual insurance renewal process. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:: * EDUCATION AND TRAINING: * Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA or CPA a plus. * EXPERIENCE: * Prior general ledger accounting and reconciliation experience required. Strong financial analysis experience required. Multi-location healthcare background preferred, but not required. * SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Advanced Excel skills are a must. Proficient Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills required. Superior verbal and written communication skills needed. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Knowledge of functions and relationships of departments within a multi-facility organization preferred. RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS:: All are essential job functions according to ADA guidelines. These are measured by supervisory observation, staff and resident/family feedback, review of documentation, and in-service attendance * Maintains the operations management scorecard and routinely monitors key operating metrics that drive operational performance. * Prepares monthly journal entries related to treasury functions, and performs related monthly account analyses and reconciliations. * Maintains budget templates, collaborates with business owners to complete budgets, and prepares related budget reports and analyses. * Develops, maintains and prepares financial analyses used for monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc reporting purposes. * Coordinates the maintenance and enhancement of the organizations financial forecasting tool. * Analyze business processes and controls, propose improvements, and implement the solutions. * Manage special projects and analyses recommended by senior management. * Accumulates operational and financial information needed during the organizations annual insurance renewal process. * Coordinates various treasury functions related to banking and cash management.
