Job Summary The Receptionist is responsible to answer telephones and greet visitors and staff in a friendly and helpful manner. The receptionist assists to coordinate referral and admissions. The position requires a positive, outgoing personality and a pleasant sounding voice. The receptionist directs visitors and callers to correct personnel and/or locations and monitors security and safety of those entering the facility. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. At least one-year experience in customer service or reception job preferred. Must have a pleasant attitude and easy to understand speech. Neat and professional appearance. Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions, (word processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.) is essential. Typing proficiency of 50-60 words per minute. Strong organizational and analytical skills; oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability in independent functioning and strong leadership. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Support Services: Answer incoming and direct incoming calls. Greet and direct visitors and family members. Maintain current patient directory. Accept job applications and forward to appropriate department heads. Organize work to be addressed by receptionist on other shifts. Provide clerical support for the Administrator and other staff, as directed. Adhere to confidentiality requirements. Announce emergency codes and instructions over public address system as required. Demonstrates knowledge of and respect for the rights, dignity and individuality of each resident in all interactions. Understands the importance of and respect for the rights dignity and individuality of each resident in all interactions. Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times in the care and use of resident and facility property. Know of emergency and disaster procedures of the facility. Demonstrates respect for co-workers and responds to needs of residents by complying with facility policies. Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks/responsibilities and complete duties within allotted time. Ability to carry out the essential functions of this job (with or without reasonable accommodation). Assure participation in relevant in-service training sessions. Attend and participate in facility meetings, including those relating to Infection Control/Safety/Quality Improvement, as assigned. Access continuing education opportunities appropriate to responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned.
