QUALIFICATIONS Education: Nurse Practitioner degree from an approved school of nursing. Licensure: Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner by the North Dakota Board of Nursing. Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Experience: No previous experience required. Skills: Working knowledge of basic clinical skills in delivery of patient care. Basic Life Support Certification and ACLS within 480 hours of employment and meets re-certification as required. Interpersonal Skills: Maturity and ability to establish good rapport with physicians, patients, public, and staff. Good communication skills are necessary because of the constant communication, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors, and medical center staff. Accountable for own conduct and promotes and supports positive working relationships among staff, between other disciplines, departments, families, visitors, and patients. Maintains confidentiality. Physical Effort: Medium: Sometimes involves a maximum physical effort requirement of 50 pounds. Hours of Work: Rotating shift work or straight evenings or nights. Rotating holidays and weekends. Other: Works under the following conditions: potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical and infectious environmental hazards.
