NURSE INTERN, SUMMER 2019 PROGRAM (8 Weeks)
Accepting applications for eligible Nurse Intern Level 1 and Level 2
Level 2 interns will begin program May 13, 2019
Level 1 interns will begin program June 10, 2019
Position Function: The Nurse Intern functions as a supplemental part of the patient care team by performing selected patient care treatments and tasks under the direct supervision of an assigned registered nurse and/or other designated member of the healthcare team.
Education: Formal Education and Training—Level 1 Nurse Interns are first year BSN students and are eligible upon completion of their first semester. Level 2 Nurse Interns are eligible upon completion of two full semesters of direct patient care clinical rotations, one in an acute care facility and the second can be in acute or long term care, and both Associates degree and BSN students are eligible. Upon acceptance into the Intern Program, the student must achieve and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and must be actively enrolled and maintaining academic standards (i.e. passing) in his/her nursing and all other courses to participate and maintain the internship role.
Informal or Continuing Education--Evidence of participation in educational programs to update and maintain current knowledge and clinical skills.
Experience: Experience applying customer service behaviors and communication skills required. No prior experience required.
Certifications/Licensure: CPR certification required.
