The Department of Pharmacy uses various clinical, financial, and administrative applications, including Cerner, that the Pharmacy Informatics Specialist is responsible for maintaining, enhancing, upgrading and in providing staff support. Under limited supervision, has the responsibility for coordinating the successful implementation of Pharmacy Medication components. Working with the various implementation teams, assists in designing, testing, training, implementation and support of the various information systems. Ensures that clinical, operational and financial pharmacy processes are accurately reflected, and supported. The Pharmacy Informatics Specialist supervises the application systems maintenance and upkeep by the pharmacy staff. Promotes cooperation and collaboration with other team members to achieve organizational goals. Embraces the values of the Karmanos Cancer Center and uses them to guide interactions with others.
Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited school of pharmacy. Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Masters preferred. Minimum of 5 years pharmacy practice experience. Minimum of 3-5 years experience working with computerized clinical information systems. Implementing clinical applications experience preferred. Demonstrated experience with workflow analysis and process improvement initiatives. Demonstrated project planning skills.
