THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN CHARLESTON SC
In collaboration with and under the medical direction of a staff anesthesiologist, the CRNA is responsible for providing quality care utilizing the team approach. The CRNA provides anesthesia services to patients in accordance with RSFHS policies and procedures. The CRNA practices within professional anesthesia standards and in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act. The CRNA maintains clinical and professional competency and provides individualized, age specific care. The CRNA administers intravenous, general and regional anesthetics to render patients insensible to pain during surgical procedures and in obstetric deliveries or other medical and dental procedures.
Education: Master's degree from an accredited school of nurse anesthesia; or graduation from an accredited school of nursing and an accredited school of anesthesia required.
Currently licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of South Carolina. Current certification as a CRNA under NBCRNA required. Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification and ACLS Certification required. PALS certification required within six months of hire.
