Cook prepares, portions, and serves a variety of hot and cold foods and desserts for residents/participants of Residential Community & Adult Day Programs according to production requirements and standardized recipes.

Position Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Director of Dining Services and direct supervision of Operations Manager, the Cook will be responsible for the following:

  • Prepares all the hot and cold food items on menu for residents and personnel according to production sheets and standardized recipes.
  • Maintains high standards of sanitation and completes daily and special cleaning tasks as outlined on the sanitation checklist.
  • Meets daily with Operations Manager to go over daily menus and special functions to insure proper portion control and any special diet needs.
  • Notifies the Operations Manager, in writing of any food needs, equipment repairs, and assists the Chef with any special needs.
  • Serves meals in both the Main Kitchen and Satellite Kitchens.
  • Required to taste and smell food to determine the quality and palatability.
  • Attends in service training sessions.
  • Provides quality customer service with a positive attitude and commitment to teamwork while meeting the needs of residents, staff and visitors.
  • Assist in supervision, training and delegation of work for staff in dining services


  • High school diploma or GED
  • Training in Culinary Arts
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Chef in hospitality industry
  • Strong customer focus
