  • Job Description
    • Job Summary:
      • The monitor secretary functions as receptionist for the department. Observes cardiac monitors and performs secretarial functions. Answers and handles multiple calls, screens, and takes appropriate messages as needed. Transcribes physician orders and files reports and paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Demonstrates investment in the overall forward movement of the unit and the organization. Applies good interpersonal and communication process utilizing verbal and non-verbal skills to achieve organizational service goals of customer satisfaction and a positive work environment.
    • Experience/Qualifications:
      • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
      • Possess basic computer skills.
      • Prefer minimum of one-year secretarial experience in an acute care hospital setting.
    • Education:
      • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
      • Successful completion of medial terminology course preferred.
    • Licensure/Certification:
      • Arrhythmia certification is required
      • BLS certification required
    • Physical Requirements:
      • Must be able to bend/reach for up to 1/3 of the time
      • Must be able to carry between 5-10 pounds
      • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
      • Must be able to perform chest compressions for up to 5 minutes
      • Must be able to Push/Pull and Assist patients up to 200 pounds
      • Must be able to sit for 10-12 hrs per day
      • Must be able to stand/walk for 10-12 hrs per day
    • Work Environment:
      • Ability to work well under pressure with frequent interruptions and deadlines.
