Advises and assists personnel in the hospital, in food service systems and nutritional care of clients.
Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university.
Licensed with the state of Mississippi and registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
One to two years experience preferred but not required.
English required. Multi-lingual capabilites enhance the ability to perform this job. Must have the ability to speak effectively and professionally to all staff, management, and all outside individuals at all levels from elementary to professional. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Must be able to calculate patients estimated nutritional needs and other nutrition related calculations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
