Responsible for the delivery of evidence-based patient care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation; leads the unit in providing direction, guidance and participates in staff development and training; accountable for prescribing, delegating and coordinating care rendered to patients, including assessment, interdisciplinary planning, patient and family education and support and the appropriate assignment of patient care to staff while maintaining standards of care and practice.
Current NYS License as a Registered Nurse. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Competence in specific clinical area preferred. Must maintain a commitment to continuing professional development. Knowledge of regulatory agencies and practice, such as the Nurse Practice Act, Department of Health, State Education Department, OSHA & Infection Control). Knowledge of Hospital & Departmental policies and procedures.
BLS or CPR/AED training required and accepted from only 2 organizations:
1. American Heart Association - BLS/ACLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program
2. American Red Cross - CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
No online programs from any organization will be accepted.
