The Director of Quality Management is responsible for leading, enhancing, directing, organizing, monitoring, and controlling all operational services in the area of accountability in order to ensure safe, cost efficient, high quality care. Accountable for assessing, planning, developing, implementing, and coordinating strategies of the department to achieve optimal reliability, quality performance and clinical outcomes.
This position provides supervision and leadership to the Directors, Managers and Coordinators responsible for the integrated functions that include Clinical Services, Education, Quality Management, Infection Control, Clinical and Support Services & Medical Staff Services. In addition, coordinates and facilitates TJC, state, federal and other regulatory agencies surveys/investigations for the acute care hospital. Performs other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of theory, techniques and practices or acute and rehabilitation nursing, infection control and adult learning. Must be knowledgeable in hospital policies and procedures, TJC, CMS, state and national regulations. Must possess a current and valid Registered Nurse License, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Bachelor’s Degree in related healthcare field, a minimum of 5 years acute care management experience and 3 years of acute hospital experience. A Master’s Degree is preferred for this position.
