Performs both obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound examination including the biometry and anatomy survey. Works collaboratively and under the direction of Board-Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologists and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners.
Essential Job Functions:
1.Performs ultrasound examinations of patients.
2.Assists with ultrasound-guidance during in-office procedures as needed and requested by providers. Procedures may include but are not limited to: Sonohysterograms, Essure, Novasure and IUD placements.
3.Promotes good public relations between patients, family members, clinic, hospital, and community by fostering a friendly, positive, encouraging, sympathetic atmosphere in the relationships between staff and patients.
4.Communicates to patient constantly, in lay language, on the status of the examination/procedure, always maintaining patient's confidence.
5.May provide portable examinations at bedside as requested by attending physicians.
•Must utilize one or more EHR applications to deliver and track patient care.
•Performs complex examinations and procedures on outpatients
•Demonstrates ability to communicate clinical/educational knowledge to learners (i.e. patients, and families/significant others).
•Must have the necessary knowledge and training to care for the specific age group under his/her care
•Must have accountability for the care provided, commitment to patient care, and commitment to uphold the Patient Bill of Rights.
License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
•ARDMS-certified in obstetrics and gynecology
•1 year of experience in ultrasound setting
•Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire
DESIRED for the position:
•6 months experience in OB and GYN ultrasound
•1st Trimester Nuchal Translucency Certified
