Job Description

The Human Resources Employee Relations Specialist supports the HR Business Partner function through management of related administrative functions, project management and support, and providing HRBP support to one or more small client group(s). The ERS is responsible for providing Employee Relations (ER) support to managers and team members including administering employment policies and practices and researching and/or investigating team member concerns and making recommendations that effectively promote positive employee relations. 
  • Partners with HRBP to conduct HR investigations
  • Partners with HRBP to conduct focus groups, working sessions, or otherwise support engagement and team effectiveness efforts. 
  • Conducts employee complaint intake discussions or exit interviews on behalf or HRBP as needed
  • Coaches managers on conflict resolution, facilitates problem solving, administers progressive discipline procedure and recommends termination of employment based upon administrative review.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase engagement and retention 
  • Leads HRBP-related projects and initiatives - for example, policy revisions, toolkit development, process redesigns
  • Manages ongoing HRBP-related initiatives - for example, annual performance reviews, engagement survey rollout 
  • Works to increase knowledge of applicable state and federal laws to ensure legal compliance (EEOC, DOL, ADA, FMLA, FLSA) through shadowing and partnering with HRBPs and seeking formal training opportunities
  • Builds knowledge of all areas of HR though proactive engagement in cross-HR projects, partnering with Business Partners, and participating in team meetings and offsite workshops
  • Focuses on the customer; identifies the customer's needs; responds to the customer; satisfies the customer; takes ownership. 
  • Responds immediately to customer's needs and solving repetitive service problems.

Requirements

Education
Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of equivalent experience within Human Resources

Skills
Strong organization, time management, and verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills.

Experience Preferred
Human Resources/BP experience
