Job Description

  • Position Summary
    • Duties include consistent demonstration of professional conduct and ethical practice in the clinical setting; uses and interprets both verbal and non-verbal communication when working with patients and members of their families; performs initial clinical assessments and assists physician with any treatments or procedures; patient instruction/education related to diagnosis, tests and medications; maintenance and proficiency testing of clinical equipment; displays safety consciousness in the clinical setting with patients, self, staff and equipment; establishes and enhances good personal rapport with patients and patient family members; complies with infection control principles and sterile procedures; utilizes good body mechanics while handling equipment, performing daily job duties and working with patients; writes concise, accurate and legible reports of patient care delivery; communicates effectively and in a timely fashion with coworkers and other clinic personnel that must share in the mutual care & assistance of patients; assumes personal responsibility for maintaining licensure (as required) and current knowledge of patient care, procedures and treatments as applicable to our clinic and specific patient population. Keep exam rooms clean and restock daily. Assists with the unpacking and restocking of supplies received. Support the Clinical Coordinator with ordering of clinical supplies as needed. Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task at all times.
  • Minimum Requirements
    • EDUCATION
      • High school graduate or equivalent preferred; completion of a medical assistant course at a technical or junior college preferred.  Experience in place of education acceptable. Training in Obstetrical and Gynecology preferred.
    • EXPERIENCE
      • Must have mature reasoning ability and strong attention to detail; 2-3 years previous medical office experience, hospital or private practice experience with Obstetrics and Gynecology preferred, demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
      • Maintain licensure as needed for professional position, BLS certification required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association).
