Under the direction of the Manager, Physician Outreach, this position is responsible for taking a lead role in the Hospital’s referring physician outreach program. This position will support the development of physician-to-physician relationships. The focus will be on Lowell PHO, NEQCA physicians and their associated community specialists, as well as hospital affiliates.
Referring Physician Outreach, Lead program development. Strategize and lead team efforts to improve work efficiencies. Manage development of outreach strategy with program VP, and members of Hospital and PO leadership team. Recommend suggested performance metrics and/or metrics for success; develop tracking infrastructure to measure; and develop standard reports to be shared with Hospital and PO leadership. Align program assistant’s work duties as related to the referring physician outreach program, including prioritizing tasks and training as necessary. Act as a resource for Hospital’s physician liaisons. Guide their work and offer direction as needed. Supervise large event planning. Help manage program budget. Work with program VP to recommend analyses that will inform development of specific outreach strategy. Work with Marketing and Communications to recommend collateral and inform them of marketing opportunities to help support ref MD outreach program. Responsible for maintaining tactical physician liaison duties (including but not limited to: liaison visits, coordination of referring physician outreach, event planning, serving as key contact for NEQCA administrators, etc.). Performs other job related duties as required or directed. Maintains a collaborative, team relationship with peers and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the group achievement of goals, and to help foster a positive work environment.
Demonstrated organizational skills necessary to manage projects, multiple assignments and within scheduled deadlines. Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must have effective presentation skills. Ability to represent Tufts Medical Center to external constituents in an independent and professional manner. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with varied constituencies in the hospital and healthcare setting, including senior administrators and clinical leadership. Must possess excellent computer skills, including competency in using the following software products: Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. CRM Databases – e.g., Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Strong work ethic and commitment to service excellence. Ability to travel in Eastern Massachusetts. Ability to work some early mornings and evenings. Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of five years’ experience in referring physician outreach with increasing levels of responsibility. An equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above, may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
