Northwestern Medical Center's mission is to provide exceptional healthcare for our community.  We are currently recruiting for a LNA in our Progressive Care Unit.

EXPECTED HOURS/SHIFT: Regular Part-Time (64-79 hours bi-weekly), Evening/Night Shift, generally 7p-7a (possibly 8 hour shifts at times), every other weekend. 

  • The LNA/Tech plans and implements assigned patient care in collaboration with the nursing staff on the unit. The LNA/Tech provides direct patient care for patients of all age groups under a wide variety of circumstances, including patient sitting/care companion and documents patient information. The LNA/Tech will also provide support on the assigned unit that may include reception and clerical functions while interacting professionally with staff to facilitate a healing environment for staff, patients, families and visitors. After training the LNA/Tech will perform EKG's and phlebotomy procedures as necessary.

PREREQUISITES

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent with a current licensure as a Licensed Nursing Assistant in the State of Vermont.

    Experience: Experience as a LNA in a hospital setting preferred. Computer experience required. LNA/Tech II: requires phlebotomy and ECG experience as well as the ability to float between at least two units. All LNA’s will obtain LNA/Tech II within six (6) months of hire date.

    Other: Knowledge of basic medical terminology. Communicates clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing. Has the ability to organize and prioritize multiple competing demands. Has an approachable, friendly demeanor. BLS required.
