Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, and policies and procedures the Surgery Operations Coordination Manager is a registered nurse who extends and supports the Director with management of the fiscal, physical and human resources of the department including responsibility for planning and decision making, managing relationships, staff development, and oversight of the delivery of services. Responsibilities include collaboration with scheduling and physician offices to ensure an optimal patient experience; planning and strategizing surgical case scheduling to avoid equipment, implant or surgical delays; and assessment of surgical cases according to specialty, surgeon and patient needs. The Manager is accountable for daily staffing, time and attendance, charges, work flow and personnel performance. The Manager fosters physician relationships and quality care within service areas and, in conjunction with the Director, creates and implements an operational plan that is in alignment with the LMHS’ strategic plan to ensure that initiatives are in place to support and achieve quality, cost containment, patient satisfaction, and associate engagement goals. In addition to leadership and management responsibilities, the Surgery Operations Coordination Manager participates on committees as assigned, serves as an expert clinical resource, and provides direct patient care when applicable.
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
Licensure/Certification: Must hold a valid unrestricted license with the Ohio Board of Nursing. BLS and ACLS also required. CNOR certification is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three-four years of advanced surgical clinical experience in all services lines including CVOR and Robotics is required. Previous management experience is strongly preferred.
Skills: Must have strong communication skills and the ability to interact and build effective relationships with all constituents, including physicians and associates. Must also have a documented history of effective team building, creating a Culture of Safety, and leading positive change. Strong numeric, basic computer skills, and a comprehensive knowledge of all surgical services lines are also required.
