The CNA/Unit Secretary coordinates and organizes the clinical duties of the Patient Care Unit by acting as a contact person, receptionist and secretary. Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse or Staff Nurse, the CNA/Unit Secretary of the Inpatient Care Services Team performs various duties assisting in the care of patients in accordance with the established protocol, policies, and procedures of Lincoln Health.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Experience with Medical Terminology helpful. Meditech CPOE training and monitor-tech training required. Must possess and exhibit excellent customer service, communication and telephone skills. Needs typing and computer skills at a basic to intermediate level.
Successfully passed the State of Maine Certifying Exam for CNA’s.
Current Basic Life Support certification.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
