Virginia Mason Memorial is seeking remarkable, customer service focused candidates to join our growing Patient Access Float Pool Team. As a part of the Float Pool, you will be cross trained to work in all areas of Patient Access such as the Emergency Room, Emergency Room Annex as well as Admitting. The schedule for the float pool team necessitates flexibility. As a Float Pool member, you may be asked to cover a variety of shifts (day, evening, and night). The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with patients that are visiting the Hospital for a wide range of injury and/or illness. With continual and direct patient contact, the Patient Access Representative performs diversified tasks and duties associated with inpatient admissions, emergency and outpatient registrations, cashiering and communication; discusses financial responsibility with patients, maintains accurate patient account information and verifies insurance. The Patient Access Representative admits/registers patients in a timely and efficient manner using multiple methods of communications (bedside, in-person, over the phone, etc.), also obtains all required admission/registration information and ensures an accurate medical record is created. Exceptional customer service is required when interacting with all patients, family members, and members of the health care team.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Experience: Hospital patient access or billing, medical office receptionist, insurance office experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: CRCS preferred
Level of Business Knowledge/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Medical terminology/Clerical/excellent Customer Service required. Knowledge of Government Programs, insurance billing experience, and healthcare compliance.
