Job Description

The Patient Access Representative ensures that all required patient demographic and insurance data is collected for the assigned department.


Job Requirements:

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent required OR Associates Degree in a related field. Minimum of one (1) year experience in healthcare admitting or patient account receivable follow up, billing, payments, and/or adjustments required, preferably in an inpatient setting OR successful completion of a hospital-focused billing certificate program OR successful completion of a Crouse Hospital revenue cycle based internship program.


Preferred: Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.


Special Skills/Equipment: Working knowledge of various office technology systems including MS Office, MS Outlook, and multiple line phone systems.  Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Outlook.  Exceptional customer service and time management skills.  Must be able to work effectively in a busy office environment.   Must pass a Patient Access test with a score of 75% or higher.  Testing will be administered by Human Resources.
