JOB TITLE: Tech -Grounds
DEPARTMENT: Plant Operations
REPORTS TO: Plant Operations/Environmental Services Director
Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment throughout the facility. Also, maintaining the equipment, tools, furniture, etc. of the facility. Follow all tasks as set forth by the Director of Plant Operations/Environmental Services.

ETHICS AND COMPLIANCE
Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Cody Regional Health’s Ethics and Compliance Program. Is responsible to detect, observe and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, or upward through the chain of command, the Compliance Officer or hospital hotline.

Work primarily on outside grounds during summer months
Maintain a high quality of appearance on walks and lawns
Maintain sprinkler systems
Works in all areas of the facility
Subject to frequent interruptions
Must be willing to work beyond normal hours and in other positions temporarily when necessary
Attends and participates in continuing education programs
Required to attend all department meetings
Required to be available for emergency situations
Serves on various committees of the facility as required by appointment by the Plant Operations/Environmental Services Director
Required to be part of On Call rotation
Must be familiar with potential hazards, e.g. bloodborne pathogens, hazardous and infectious wastes, chemicals, etc.
Must have working knowledge of electrical generation, boiler systems, fire alarm and signal systems
Must be knowledgeable of safe working practices including the use of power equipment
Maintains records of tests, quality control and all pertinent information as it relates to department
Develops and maintains a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel within the entire facility
Pick up and deliver supplies for various departments, in town and out of town.
Maintains a safe and clean environment in the departments for patients and employees
Maintains QI records, records of tests and all pertinent information required within the department.
Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with facility wide and departmental policies and procedures
Actively participate in Cody Regional Health Compliance Program and demonstrates compliance with required laws and regulations and ensures departmental compliance with regulatory requirements
Actively participate in hospital mandatory education programs/in-services
Meets attendance policy requirements
Exercise independent judgment and discretion when carrying out the essential functions of this position
Must be organized in job functions in order to avoid errors, errors of omission and inconsistent complete of job function
Must keep necessary inventories current in order to maintain uninterrupted operation of the facility
Maintain an effective preventative maintenance program as necessary
Maintains appropriate records as required by regulations, as well as facility records necessary for following established policies and procedures
Other related duties and activities as may become necessary or as directed by the Plant Operations/Environmental Services Director
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patients, visitors and the general public
Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with other department personnel
Must possess the ability to solve problems that arise, which may include items such as wastes of supplies, misuse of equipment.
Performs duties in a manner consistent with safety principles
Keeps abreast of new procedures and technology
Coordinates work flow with other employees/managers to ensure a productive and efficient work environment
Communicate by work, word and action the Mission, Vision, Goals and Philosophy of Cody Regional Health.
Maintain a good working relationship with all coworkers and the general public and to use good judgment in recognizing scope and authority of position
Must utilize effective problem-solving skills as appropriate
Must be flexible in response to unexpected changes in workload, emergencies and or scheduling changes
Attend department meetings
Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Plant Operations/Environmental Services Director
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience with grounds keeping. Knowledge of lawn care and operation of lawn equipment a must. Capable of operating and maintaining sprinkler equipment. Knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, construction, and HVAC systems. Boiler operation experience and or willingness to become licensed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (HR will complete the remaining sections)
0-20% of work time: standing, walking, lifting, carrying or pushing 20 pounds or less. Any lifting of 35 pounds or more requires the use of an assistive device and/or physical assistance. Up to 80% or more of work time: sitting.
15-85% of work time: standing, walking, lifting, carrying or pushing up to 35 pounds independently. When lifting, carrying or pushing greater than 35 pounds assistance or assistive devices will be used. 0-15% of work time sitting
