Job Description

Our system and service area extends from beautiful central and northern Wisconsin into the majestic lake shore regions of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  We have 8 hospitals and over 55 primary care/specialty clinics.


This position will serve as an Emergency Medical Technician for Taylor County Ambulance Service.  Performs prompt and efficient triage of patients.  Based on assessment findings, renders emergency medical care to medical and trauma patients and transports to the nearest appropriate hospital.  Utilizes appropriate resources as available to provide the best outcome for our patients.


  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Must have successfully completed a Department of Health & Family Service approved EMT course consisting of 180 classroom hours and 10 hours of clinical experience
  • Must have successfully completed an American Heart Association CPR certification course
  • Must possess current BLS certification
  • Must have successfully passed the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician written and practical exam
  • During a two-year licensure period, must successfully complete an approved refresher course for licensure level
  • E.V.O.C. (Emergency Vehicle Operation Course) class is preferred
  • Must have a valid State of Wisconsin driver's license free of driving violations that meets approval of hospital insurance carrier
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in first aid and CPR
  • Needs to be able to handle pressure and stress with composure and emotional stability
  • Ability to adapt readily to changes in the pre-hospital healthcare environment
