  • Position Summary
    The Grant and Contract Administrator is responsible for managing the process of review, triage and timely submission of research grants and contracts in a very busy and productive sponsored research office.  Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing and redlining sponsored research contracts and subcontracts, assisting in the assembly of grant proposals including interpreting sponsor guidelines, reviewing/editing grant materials, ensuring institutional and sponsor compliance in research areas that may include human subjects or sensitive materials, coordinating the institutional approval process, working with institutional  databases and conducting legal research as needed.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to identify and resolve grant and contract administration issues.  We seek a colleague who is detail-oriented with proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and who can work with physicians, scientists, and members of other departments in a professional manner. Writing and editing skills are critical and paralegal experience and/or knowledge of federal research regulations is a plus.

 

  •  Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    1.     Bachelor's degree in appropriate field preferred.
    2.     At least 3 years progressive experience in one of the following:  contract review and management, sponsored program management, or proposal development and grant management in a health or health-related field.
    3.     Knowledge of information resources, databases, and methods of accessing and using such resources.
    4.   Ability to develop or facilitate the development of a conceptual framework for a proposal.
