Meritas Health Corporation, a subsidiary of North Kansas City Hospital, 
is hiring an experienced Medical Assistant.  The position requires excellent people skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. 
Must have proficient computer skills and possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and professional appearance.Electronic medical record experience is a plus. 

JOB SUMMARY: Provides patient care under the direction of a physician, nurse practitioner or other non-physician provider.  
  1. Education High School or GED equivalent 2. Licensure:   3. Experience: 2 years of experience in physician’s office setting 4. Certifications: Medical Assistant, Current BCLS required 5. Special Skills:   6. Other: Basic office skills  
JOB SPECIFIC STANDARDS: All responsibilities and standards shall be performed according to established policies, procedures, and guidelines for Meritas.


Competently assists providers to maximize patient volume, administers medications, performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and returns patient calls in a timely manner. 2. Ensures effective patient communication and efficient patient flow.  Documents patient care accurately and timely.  Performs EMR tasks correctly and timely.  Processes patient referrals timely and follows up to ensure the specialist report or test result is received.


Follows all regulatory and patient safety clinical standards.


Works and communicates effectively with all providers.  Promotes teamwork.  Provides great customer service in person and on the telephone.


Demonstrates professionalism by articulating and demonstrating professional behavior, accepting responsibility and accountability for actions, adhering to policies and procedures, demonstrating leadership and supporting Meritas initiatives.
