Clinical Nursing Coordinator Registered Nurse      


POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting the Clinical Nurse Manager in the coordination of, and to direct the nursing care model on the Patient Care Unit; supports the continuous growth and development of systems and processes to ensure the delivery of safe, quality patient care across the continuum.


In managing care, the Coordinator will take a leadership role coordinating the interdisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.


The Coordinator is responsible for working with nursing management and nursing staff in implementing and evaluating patient care.


Ensures nursing policies, procedures and standards of care are met.


The Coordinator will assist the manager with scheduling of employees, hiring employees, employee evaluations, time and attendance management, budgeting, reviewing policies and procedures, and participating in the hospital's performance improvement program.


Provides on-site management of the PCU in the absence of IP Clinical Nurse Manager, and supplemental staffing of clinical areas if needed.


This position requires innovative problem-solving skills, flexibility, effective leadership, excellent communication abilities and current clinical skills expertise.


Supports the organizational mission, vision and values, the philosophy of the Nursing Division, and embraces BBGH Patient Experience initiative and Team STEPPS. Due to changing organizational needs, work hours may vary.


A 30-day notice is required when employee resigns position.

EDUCATION


Required:       Graduate from an approved Registered Nursing Program    

                        Bachelor of Science in Nursing


Preferred:      Master of Science in Nursing


EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred:      Three or more years acute/critical care nursing experience as a registered nurse  One or more year of prior nursing supervisory experience

License/Certifications:

Required:       Nebraska RN license, or Nurse License Compact license

                        BLS for healthcare workers

Within one year of employment:

ACLS

PALS or ENPC

NRP

Preferred: National Board Certification
