Job Description

Job Summary:  The Electronic Medical Record Specialist will provide support to physicians and other clinicians in their use of an electronic patient chart and the function of computerized physician order entry.  This position will perform additional tasks as requested by the Clinical Director who will work closely with the VPMA and CNO to ensure the role provides support as needed.  This role performs a number of administrative functions to support the clinical unit.  However, it is the primary function of this position to ensure the physicians and other clinicians are enabled and supported in the accurate, effective, efficient and safe use of the electronic patient record.

Job Requirements:

Associates degree or minimum of three years secretarial and general clerical experience and medical terminology preferred.  Completion of RHIA, RHIT or supporting medical field education program is preferred.  High School Diploma or GED preferred.  Experience working with training programs, clinicians, healthcare computer systems or formal education in computer science is preferred.  Excellent customer service skills a must.
