Job Description

The Manager, Volunteer Program is responsible for all aspects of the volunteer services program within the assigned region(s), including patient care, administrative and community outreach volunteers. Oversees needs assessments, recruiting, training, supervising, maintaining and assigning clinical and non-clinical volunteers. Works with Director of Volunteer Services and Complementary Therapies to develop quality improvement projects, department policies and processes. Ensures compliance of volunteer services program. The Manager, Volunteer Program is further responsible for promoting a culture of excellence in patient care; ensuring outcomes are met as related to patient/family/caregiver needs as well as employee performance and engagement.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years' previous experience in a volunteer program with management/oversight required.
  • Direct experience supervising/managing and recruiting paid or unpaid staff.
  • Travel between multiple offices, cities and towns located in southwest and west Michigan required on a monthly basis, year round.
  • Public speaking experience and leading staff or volunteer trainings required.
  • Work experience in a healthcare and/or hospice setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance as it pertains to hospice required.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles required.
