The main purpose of the PACU - Pre-op/Post-op/Pre-op Holding Area Registered Nurse is to provide quality care according to Cambridge Health Alliance and the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses standards of nursing practice. The role of the Pre-op/Post-op/Pre-op Holding Area nurse is to care for in-patients and out-patients during the pre-operative, Phase 1, and Phase 2 post-operative periods.
The Pre-op/Post-op RN nurse will demonstrate the ability to provide the functions of admission, recovery and discharge for patients having undergone any form of anesthesia. The Pre-op/Post-op/Pre-op Holding Area nurse knows and understands the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of nursing service. Qualifications/Experience: RN, graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required or within one year from date of hire. Current RN MA licensure required Certifications: American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS required. Minimum 2 years current critical care/PACU experience is required. On call obligations required for nights weekends and holidays.
