Responsibilities include facilitating admission and discharge processes for inpatients;conducting bedside rounds on inpatients and development, in collaboration with the primary physician, treatment plans to meet the patient's needs; administers and prescribes medications and prescribes/provides direct patient care interventions as indicated by the patient's condition. While the Nurse Practitioner is subject to practice under the protocols established and approved by the medical staff as required under South Dakota law, in all other respects the Nurse Practitioner is subject to the Hospital's authority.
The Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with the healthcare team to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care.
· Education: Master's degree in nursing required. Graduate of an accredited CNP program required.
· Licensure/Certification: Current licensure/certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the South Dakota Board of Nursing is required. Must have current BLS and ACLS. CCRN preferred.
· Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required. Minimum of one year adult, acute care with cardiology cardiovascular nursing experience preferred but will consider new graduates.
