Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patients' medical, physical and psychological status, including histories and physical examinations. Develops treatment plans individualized to the patient's needs. Records notes in the medical record. Implements physician-directed treatment plans, writes orders for medications, treatments, tests, and provides patient care. May prescribe medication appropriate for treatment of patients in a family medicine practice. Provides education and counseling covering health status, test results, disease processes and follow-up care. Performs minor procedures. Provides education and training to clinical staff in the offices. Provides urgent care and occupational health assessments with physicians according to employer guidelines and federal regulations. Obtains consultations when the diagnosis or management is outside area of expertise. Operates within the scope of practice outline by the State of South Carolina.
*Must be available to work day, evening and weekend shifts.
§ Bachelor's Degree Required. Must have a current SC Physician Assistant Licensure with prescriptive authority. Will also considered APRNs trained in Family Medicine.
§ 3 years of experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is preferred, clinical experience in a healthcare practice setting required.
§ Knowledge relating to Family Practice and Occupational Medicine is required
§ Must have current SC Physician Assistant Licensure or APRN Licensure. DOT Certification required. BLS for the Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association is required prior to first shift.
