Reports to the Director-Radiology. Follows the nursing process to perform simple and complex diagnostic and therapeutic invasive. Interventional radiology procedures for adult patients. Applies discretion and independent judgment to the provision of age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient care. Collaborates and provides leadership in the development of standards of care, patient, family and staff education to address the needs of this specialized patient population. Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands interventional radiology knowledge base and clinical skills. Provides direction and guidance in the proper use, care and control of material resources; appraises quality and effectiveness of material and equipment and communicates to responsible individuals. Guides the professional growth of others across the continuum of care through role modeling, coaching and/or mentoring, e.g., designing orientation modules. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce. Is knowledgeable in the scope of ALARA regarding radiation safety including physicians, staff and patients. Performs other duties as needed.

Required Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. At least 2 years of recent Interventional Radiology experience. Conscious Sedation certificate (obtain certification within 6 months of hire). PICC line placement experience preferred (obtain certification within 6 months of hire). Critical Care experience preferred.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration: Possesses a current RN license in the state of California. Current BLS and ACLS certificates required.
