Job Description

  • Basic Description
    • To assess, treat, solve problems, counsel, educate and refer patients seen with substance use disorder in the acute care setting/related departments, utilizing advanced assessment and evaluation techniques.  Position will be responsible to work with community resources to establish a referral network for patients with substance use disorder.  Position will be required to attend Opioid Team meetings and will be responsible for tracking of quality metrics.

    • Degree / Education
      • Masters Degree - Nursing
      • OR
      • Formalized Training PA
    • Level of Experience
      • 2 Years Experience in the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant role required.
    • Lic./Cert./Reg.
      • All licensure must be current/valid and from the state of West Virginia.
      • Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner
      • AND
      • Prescriptive Authority
      • OR

Physician Assistant, Licensed

  • Suboxone Waiver
  • Basic Life Support - Must be certified within 30 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support - Must be certified within 1 year of hire.
  • Typing/Word Processing skills required for this position

    • Equivalent combination of RN and/or Nurse Practitioner may substitute for 2 years required experience in the Nurse Practitioner role

Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.
