POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced nurse that would like to join our Birthing Center team. We will consider new graduates that have some related OB experience.

This is a 27 bed unit. Our Nurses work with labor, delivery, mom/baby, and circulate for C-sections. We care for a mixture of labor patients, high risk antepartum, triage patients, and postpartum. We utilize our skills in providing education to ensure our new families have the best start possible!

Weekend - Every 3rd weekend, 12 hour shifts Fri-Sat-Sun, Rotating Day/Night.

Holidays are Varied – 1 Major and 1 or 2 Minor groups per year, based on weekend rotation.

Call Responsibility – Mandatory (20 hours per 6 week schedule)

LOCATION:  Aspirus Wausau Hospital – Wausau, Wisconsin

Aspirus is a nationally recognized health system based in Wausau which is located in the center of Wisconsin. Our system and service area extends from beautiful central and northern Wisconsin into the majestic lake shore regions of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  We have 8 hospitals and over 55 primary care/specialty clinics.

The Registered Nurse is a professional who assumes the responsibility and accountability for the provision of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care provided that incorporates evidence based practice. A key aspect of the work of Nursing is to continually improve the quality of nursing care by collecting and analyzing data.

EDUCATION

Candidates should possess one or more of the following:

Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a nursing program. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

1-2 years of related/acute care experience is desired.

Possesses an active Wisconsin RN nursing license.

Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
