Northern Light Mercy Hospital, an acute care, non-profit hospital in Portland, Maine, is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Mercy .
Under the medical direction of the anesthesiologist, the CRNA administers sedation/analgesia or anesthesia to render neonatal through geriatric patients insensible to pain during surgical and other medically directed procedures. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with the performance standards established for the job. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential patient, employee and/or NL Mercy proprietary information, and must handle & protect the information in accordance with hospital & system policies, HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical standards. The incumbent is responsible for reporting all security events, potential events, or other security risks to the organization. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position. In addition, conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Northern Light Mercy Hospital.
Education enabling State of Maine licensure as a Registered Nurse, certification within the State requirement of eligibility and re-certify biannually. ACLS certification is required.
Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with acutely ill patients and to interact with physicians and other OR staff. A high degree of analytical and problem solving skills as the incumbent must gather and assess data appropriately to patient condition and Rx in accordance with physician orders and department protocols.
