Carry out routine patient care assignments on the unit assigned, performing established nursing procedures for individuals or groups of patients, utilizing population-specific guidelines.
Adhere to expected and established protocols related to patient safety goals, fall and skin precautions, restraint use, and medication administration. Practice according to professional and ethical standards in accordance with the Colorado State Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and Nursing Service Scope of Practice. Design individualized plans of care with the patient and foster a team approach by working collaboratively with the patient, family, primary care provider and other members of the health care team to ensure coordination of services. Assist patients with emotional support by providing appropriate resources and tools. Using evidence-based clinical nursing guidelines, provide information, education, and access to key resources including advantages and disadvantages of disease and treatment options, and coordinate referrals as appropriate.
Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program.
Effective 10/1/2013, BSN required for new hires or attain within three years of acceptance of the position.
6 months RN experience.
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.) ACLS through the American Heart Association with card in-hand before start date, and current AHA ACLS must be good through sixty days of hire
TNCC required within 3 months of hire.
ENPC required in 1 year from hire
