Patrol and monitor premises and detect signs of intrusion and interruption of services. Intervene with guests who are causing disruption or failing to observe rules of the Center Monitor building activity by conducting periodic security checks inside and out to ensure safety and compliance with building policies and procedures. Discourage loitering outside the Center; Escort unruly guests/clients from the building; Secure rooms and exterior doors as appropriate; Monitor use of ID badges by clients; Monitor use of phones by clients to ensure equal access and appropriate use. Identify and/or respond to emergency calls from staff, volunteers or clients to de-escalate potentially violate or unsafe situations. Authorize and monitor entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other persons. Guard against theft and maintain security of premises. Answer alarms and investigate disturbances. Use two-way radio to communicate to other personnel and report emergencies. Provide general assistance to ODBEC building visitors and treat all clients with respect. Report and document incidents and security infractions to the supervisor. Maintain list of Barred guests. Is alert to client activity and performance; report and document as appropriate. Provide general assistance to clients. Assist with random drug screens and emergency interventions as needed. Transport clients as needed. Must have high school diploma/GED. One year of security or related experience. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required. Must be able to intervene between two or more people in a non-violent manner.
