UNIT DESCRIPTION The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is a fast paced 14 bed unit. The Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team, comprised of a primary nurse clinician and a secondary critical care nurse is available either in the hospital or on call.  The PICU/PCCTS provides comprehensive medical and nursing care to sick, post operative, and injured children who require a high level of monitoring, treatment, and care. Care is provided on pediatric transport and in the PICU until the patient is transferred to an inpatient unit, transferred to another facility or discharged home.  Skill Level of Personnel PICU/PCCTS is staffed with Registered Nurses, licensed in the State of Tennessee, who are certified in PALS.  All personnel demonstrate competence in the performance of specialized PICU skills. Care is provided on pediatric transport and in the PICU until the patient is transferred to an inpatient unit, transferred to another facility or discharged home.  Skill Level of Personnel PICU/PCCTS is staffed with Registered Nurses, licensed in the State of Tennessee, who are certified in PALS.  All personnel demonstrate competence in the performance of specialized PICU skills. Nurses performing in the role of Primary Transport Nurse demonstrate competency in specialized pediatric transport skills.  PICU is staffed with Registered Nurses, Patient Care Assistants and Health Unit Coordinators.   BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB Manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. UNIT DESCRIPTION Our Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, fully staffed with pediatric emergency medicine specialists and nursing personnel. BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB Manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.   UNIT DESCRIPTION The nurses working in the Radiology Department provide nursing care for sedated patients during procedures in MRI, Ultrasound, CT, Nuclear Medicine and fluoroscopy. Additionally, they provide care in the sedation suite for various procedures, including but not limited to PICC line placement, abscess drainage, neurology procedures, etc. Also, our nursing services are provided on Saturdays for our scheduled sedated MRI cases.”. The current nursing group in the Radiology Department is comprised of a cohesive group of highly experienced nurses with outstanding skills in sedation (patient prep, IV starts, monitoring during sedation and managing airways). Personnel with comfort with sedation, excellent IV skills and strong team players are encouraged to apply.
