Duties performed by PCT include helping patients with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, nourishment and other treatments and procedures. Our patient population offers a great variety of opportunities related to rhythms and EKG’s, bedside cardioversions, and medications with titration of various drips. We are looking for compassionate, caring people to join our great staff of health care providers as we continue to grow .   The Echocardiogram Sonographer performs echocardiograms, two dimensional and M-mode with color flow Doppler and Doppler echocardiography on adult and pediatric patients.  Performs stress echocardiograms, Pharmacological stress testing and assists with Transesophageal echocardiograms on adult patients.  Demonstrates the ability to assimilate data, perform calculations, and provides cardiac rhythm monitoring of patients.  Performs procedures on patients ranging from infants to patients in later maturity.   Job Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):   ·         Performs Echocardiograms which involves quality diagnostic scanning of patients in the echo lab               or patient room.  The patient is positioned on the echo bed by the technician performing the                         procedure:  80% of the procedure time is spent on the scanning function.   ·         Assimilates data and performs calculations for interpretation.  Collect all the data for the echo study           to be viewed for the interpreting physician.  Studies will be transferred to the electronic                                   storage/reading station for physician interpretation.   ·         Assists the physician with the Transesophageal Echocardiogram – the technician must be present             to operate the Echo machine and collect all pertinent data.   ·         Demonstrates the ability to effectively perform treadmill studies.   ·         Participates on departmental and/or hospital performance improvement teams as appropriate.       Education and Experience        ·         High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Graduate of an accredited                   school for medical sonographers preferred.  ·         For GED candidates, two years clinical experience in related cardiology field preferred.     Certificates, Licenses, Registrations ·         Certification required within 6 months from date of hire and must be kept current:  After receiving                  Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification will              then maintain 30 CMEs every 3 years as required by ARDMS and CCI. ·         BLS certification is required and must be keep current.
