This is a DSS nursing position.  This nurse will help cover vacations on times of increased census.  This could be any day of the week on days or evenings. Improvises and manipulates the patient's environment so that skilled nursing care can be adequately provided. Demonstrates awareness and support of the Agency’s outcome objectives. Participates in on-call, holiday coverage, weekend rotation as necessary to provide 24/7 nurse availability. Participates in Agency and community health activities as requested. Participates in case conferences as needed. Assists in the orientation of new personnel and/or student nurses. Supervises the LPN and/or Aides by communicating and updating the plan of care. Attends meetings and/or workshops as requested. As assigned, receives referral information and initiates admission of the patient to Deaconess VNA Plus services. Patient Care Technicians  provide direct patient care as delegated by a registered nurse and in cooperation with other team members. Duties performed by PCT include helping patients with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, nourishment and other treatments and procedures. Our patient population offers a great variety of opportunities related to rhythms and EKG’s, bedside cardioversions, and medications with titration of various drips. Teamwork is a priority on our busy unit as we strive to provide safe and high quality care to our patients.
