Neuro Medical/Surgical ICU The Neuro Medical/Surgical ICU (NMSICU) is dedicated to caring for patients with complex medical, surgical and traumatic conditions requiring intensive care. All beds are total-care beds with chair capabilities and the use of fluoroscopy.   SUMMARY OF THE JOB The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care; demonstrates the knowledge, critical thinking and judgement of and integrates the use of evidence-based outcomes for Nursing practice; supervises care delivered; coordinates plan of care; provides education for patients, families and staff, and collaborates with other disciplines.   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE                      Graduate from a nationally accredited school of professional nursing, no experience required. If graduate of non-nationally accredited school of professional nursing, then at least one year of professional nursing experience is required. Additional responsibilities include providing test result information to authorized persons in a timely manner and performing other associated clerical duties in a manner to assure the effective function of the Reception/Collection areas.    Qualifications  (one of the following) High school diploma or GED, and certified as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP)  High school graduate and certified as a Phlebotomist by the ASCP or National Phlebotomy Association (NPA) High school graduate with previous phlebotomy experience and/or five years experience in a medical/clinical office setting. Graduate of a certified phlebotomy program Associate degree as a Medical Assistant or other hospital related field Proof of education will be required. This proof will be in the form of an authenticated copy of an original diploma or transcripts. Transcripts may be required if further definition of a degree is needed. At least one of the following is desired but not required: Certified as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Certified as a Phlebotomist by the ASCP or National Phlebotomy Association (NPA)

The Instrument Technician II has responsibility for providing sterile processing, decontamination, assembly, and transport of medical supplies, equipment and ancillary services to all requesting departments as required, under the supervision of the SSP Manager. The Instrument Technician II also demonstrates working knowledge of asepsis and sterile technique and use of medical supplies and equipment. Education and Experience High School diploma, General Education Degree (GED) with one year experience working in a Sterile Processing Department or Surgical Technology program degree.  Must be 18 years of age. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Central Supply CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician), CIS (Certified Instrument Specialist) or a CST (Certified Surgical Technologist).   (Note:  Candidates transferring from a different facility with experience in performing instrument tech duties will be granted 1 year to obtain the CRCST/CIS certification. All CST’s graduating will be granted 1 year to obtain their certification as CST).
