ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES RN: Exercises concern for the patient's welfare, maintains knowledge of the patient's condition, administers medication and performs treatment while practicing and maintaining high ethical standards. Responsible for the direct and indirect care of residents/patients assigned to her/him under the guidance of the CNO and/or Nurse Manager. Maintains accurate and complete records of nursing assessments and care and counsels the patient and family in meeting nursing and related needs. Remains up-to-date on new nursing skills and technology and utilizes the nursing process (observation, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the delivery of care. Performs duties in accordance with physician's orders, the medical center's policies, methods, and techniques, and in coordinating with other departments and personnel. Provides leadership and promotes teamwork. When requested, participates in in-service programs, education programs, and orientation of new personnel. Demonstrates a Can-Do Spirit when other duties are assigned. Emergency Department RN: Performs triage and assignment of triage level. Plans care according to patient acuity needs. Responds appropriately to Code Green trauma alerts. Recognizes STEMI cardiac patients and responds with appropriate interventions. Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance. Charge Nurse: Assesses staffing requirements and makes assignments based on acuity and census and ensures adequate and safe staffing for each shift. Handles bed control for admissions, discharges and transfers. Assists and supports staff with all levels of patient care delivery, including Medical, Surgical, ICU, OB, and ED. Performs pharmacy duties as appropriate when pharmacist is not available. Coordinates and directs the daily patient care operations for the department of nursing. Analyzes workloads and skill requirements to meet patient care needs. Assesses staff competencies and makes patient care assignments. Delegates appropriate tasks to appropriate personnel, consistent with legal and professional guidelines and departmental standards. Maintains clear communication with the Chief Nursing Officer and Nurse Manager regardingnursing needs and/or incidents. Serves as a resource person in all identified areas. Completes initial individual unit competencies appropriate to charge nurse role. Maintains competency by both seeking out opportunities to work in these areas and completing unit specific ongoing education. Assists with patient care as needed. POSITION SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Director, the phlebotomist assumes the responsibility for performing venipuncture, capillary puncture, work place drug screen, and set up routine cultures. They provide support for patient registration, clerical tasks, and related procedures, while abiding by the philosophy, policies, and procedures established by this Medical Center and Laboratory. They are an essential component in the successful achievement of the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s goals. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience as a phlebotomist in a hospital setting preferred. Must provide a copy of the highest diploma or degree obtained (minimum of High School diploma). License/Certificates: Medical assistant or phlebotomy certification preferred. Special Skills and Aptitudes: Ability to organize and prioritize all work including STAT Laboratory requests. POSITION SUMMARY The prime emphasis of this position is to plan, coordinate, and direct all services provided within the department of home care. This function will be carried out in accordance with hospital policies, as well as state and federal regulations and standards. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited college or university with a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Minimum two years of public health nursing required. Minimum one year of supervisory experience in home healthcare ore related facility required. License/Certificates: Current MN RN License. American Heart Association BLS required within 30 days of hire. Public Health certification required. Decision making and practice support must reflect evidence based practice, Joint Commission, MN State and Federal regulatory requirements.
